Statement of Intent

Media Language

The codes and conventions for print advertising, all consist of persuasion. For my magazine cover, I will be using the plain folk and Glittering Generalities, as this will appeal to everyone and also it will give the product a feel-good feeling and a happy vibe, I will do this by using models who are relatable and in my advert I will used higher saturated colours to promote that feel good vibe. Also, I will use bandwagoning so this will make everyone want to buy my product, i will do this by using an inviting slogan such as 'Join the Wave', and will link the social media pages. The main psychological technique I will use is the peripheral route, through the use of saturated colours it can catch people's attention.

Media Representation

My product should reside in the age range between 16-25 and is a non-gender specific product. I would represent by having young models and using locations where the younger audience can relate to. I will also have male and female models to represent the gender fluid product. The adverts will portray a sense of community and it will focus on equality as it will portray all genders and ethnicities as equals and people who are getting along.

Media Industries
My advert is to be printed in "Total Film" which is released monthly, the four different adverts would be distributed over four months. The advertising campaign will all be in the same style so it is shown to be creating a narrative of its own, following this urban, teen lifestyle repetitively.
The dimensions of the magazine are (22.2cmx30cm)
In the process of production, I will make sure to clean the picture of any blemishes that would make it look unprofessional.
Media Audiences

My product will be aimed towards the mainstreamer and the explorer and the C2DE category. . I will meet the needs of the mainstream by using my tagline, to make it seem to the mainstreamers that they need this brand new 'Wave' product. I would also use Sans Serif font so I can appeal to the younger audience as it is a more modernised font.
